Terms of use

Kayavak is free. These are the few conditions that come with it.

Using Kayavak

• Free to use. You may download, install and use Kayavak on as many of your own computers as you like, for personal, educational or work practice, at no cost. There's no account, no subscription and no paid tier.
• Don't resell or repackage it. Please don't sell Kayavak, bundle it with other software or publish modified copies under the Kayavak name. Point people to kayavak.com instead.
• Practice only. Kayavak gives automated feedback to help you practise. It isn't professional, medical, psychological or career advice, and it can be wrong. Its scores and verdicts don't predict the result of any real interview or talk.
• No explicit content, ever. Kayavak is built never to deal with explicit content of any kind, in video, audio, text or anything else. It refuses such content, and you agree not to try to make it handle any. This rule has no exceptions and no setting to change it.
• Your recordings are yours. Everything you create stays on your computer and belongs to you. You're responsible for having permission to analyse any recording you import, such as a meeting with other people in it.

No warranty

Kayavak is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. It may have bugs, and features may change or be removed in updates. Back up anything important (Settings → Your data → Back up everything).

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from using, or being unable to use, Kayavak or this website. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Third-party parts

Kayavak includes open-source software and models under their own licences, among them Google MediaPipe, three.js, faster-whisper and the Microsoft Rocketbox avatars (MIT). The optional AI features use Ollama and the model you choose, under their own terms.

Support and donations

Support is best-effort, through the feedback page. Buying the developer a coffee is entirely optional: it unlocks nothing, and Kayavak works exactly the same either way.
